Michael Jaycox for Groveland City Council - District 4

Hello Groveland! My name is Michael Jaycox and I am running to represent District 4 on the Groveland City Council.

My extensive background uniquely qualifies me to serve the residents of Groveland’s District 4 effectively from day one.

As a veteran of the Air Force and Air National Guard, I bring forty years of experience in engineering and construction inspection, coupled with quality assurance expertise. Additionally, I have dedicated thirty years to committee work, serving both as a member and chairman within various technical associations.

I am proud to have earned the distinction of Fellow at The American Concrete Institute in 2016, a globally recognized building code-writing organization with over 35,000 members from 120 countries. This honor is especially significant, as fewer than 800 individuals have received this recognition since its inception in 1973.

In 2008, I contributed to the New York City Building Code, crafting key sections related to inspection and testing requirements.

Locally, I serve as Vice Commander of the Trilogy of Orlando Veterans Association (TOVA), where I’ve worked diligently to expand our annual Flag for the Fallen tribute to include the Oak Tree Union Colored Cemetery and the Greenwood Cemetery, alongside Bushnell National Cemetery. I also help raise funds for TOVA through monthly bingo events held at the community event center.

My leadership extends further to civic engagement, having served as president of my local civic association for six years during my time in New York. Together, these experiences have shaped my commitment to transparency, fairness, and meaningful service to the community.
